This week we collected all our small change and brought it to school to make a coin chain. We placed our coins end to end to see how long it would be and we measured it in metres and centimetres. It was tricky because we had to use a 50cm ruler to measure each metre.  All the money collected by our school will go to the Irene Gleason Foundation to support African children.

Kindergarten children brought in lots and lots of money to make long coin chains. We put all our coins together and the longest chain was made by KC. Here are the results.

.

KC = 10.25 metres      KW = 10.20 metres     KM = 6.55 metres

KA = 6.05 metres        KB = 4.35 metres
