KM were learning about length. We used informal units to measure things we found in our classroom. We had to make sure there were no gaps between our objects and count them when we were finished. We had fun learning about the long and short things in our classroom.

Every day we fill in our weather chart. Is it sunny, cloudy, windy or rainy? Sometimes it’s hard to see from our classroom so we went outside to check. It was very bright and quite warm and we could make shadows with our bodies. We tried lots of different shapes and wherever we went our shadow went too! Can you guess what sort of day it was?

We tried hard to think of things that start with “M” and drew pictures on our little whiteboards. We practised writing the letter shape and then we read all our words together. You can hear us too!

This term in HSIE we are learning all about ourselves. We counted the number of people living in our family and created a graph to show the results. Lots of KW children have four people in their family. Miss Watanabe, our student teacher, taught us the song “How many people live at your house?”

Listen to us sing!

Every week when we learn a new sound we do an activity for our A-Z Art Book. When we learnt about ‘k’ we made koalas. We think they look great!
