This week was very exciting because we were able to go to the country without even leaving our classroom. We visited 3/4 M and their little buddies K/1T at school in Cootamundra which is a town about four hours drive south west from Sydney.

We asked them some questions about living in the country and learnt that some children live on farms. Mrs Moore, 3/4M’s teacher, wrote their answers on their Smartboard and we could see the writing on ours too.  When we wrote on our Smartboard the children in Cootamundra could see that too. The teachers used their webcams so the children could see and wave at each other. The children from the country were surprised to learn that most of the KW children could speak another language. We will be talking to and writing with our country buddies for the rest of this term and we will be able to learn more about them.

We are very happy with our lovely new building and wonderful green playground. We have lots of space now to run around and we can again play handball and hopscotch with our friends. Our “grass” is very special because you don’t need to water or mow it and it always looks green even when it’s not raining!

On Friday farmer Jas and farmer Amy brought their animals along to school. We fed them some food and milk and patted them too. It was very exciting especially when a goat and sheep escaped into the playground just before the start of the school day!

Z,Z,Zebras!

We used crayon to draw our zebras and then tore black paper to make their stripes. We cut some grass and put a warm sun in the sky and then used a funny font for our names so they looked like the zebras too!
