This week for news the children have been asked to make a simple game or toy and talk about it in class. Michael from KC drew some fish and put paper clips on them. He made a little fishing rod out of wood, string and a magnet and showed us how to play his fishing game.

What about a paper bag puppet or a clothes hanger mobile or even a very simple board or card game!

Don’t forget you have to talk about your game too! Friday will be play day!

One of our favourite number activities is Mambo Numbers. We write our numbers listening to the Disney version of Mambo No 5. Mrs W stops the music from time to time and we see who has the most numbers or who has good spaces between numbers or to make sure we don’t have too many back to front numerals. Who will get to 100 this week? We think music makes learning fun.

We practise saying or singing and writing our sounds nearly every day because it helps us when we are reading and writing stories. We are now very good at this and know lots of letter shapes and their sounds so we wanted to show you too.

The children had to create a robot from rectangles and were then asked to independently write about their robots. We read our stories and wanted to share them with you using Voicethread. You are invited to comment  by either leaving a voice or typed message. To leave a comment just register at Voicethread with your email. It just takes a minute and it’s free..

Some KC children created terrific portraits of their mums. We think we show some great talent!

We hope all our mum’s have a happy and restful day with their families. The children have been thinking about words that describe their mums and have created a Wordle or Tagxedo word cloud just like this KW one.
