The poor weather was not enough to dampen our spirits. We paraded with our buddies and had fun looking at all the different hats. Do you like our hats?

We have learned many sight words this term. We read our flash cards, play games and colour, cut and paste pictures, words and sentences into our books so we can read them lots of times. Would you like to read with us?

Our buddies from Years 5 and 6 came to visit and we helped them decorate their Easter hats. We chatted and had some fun colouring, cutting and glueing. They will finish their hats at home and show them to us next week at the Easter hat parade.

Everyone looked very colourful in their national costumes or orange, red and yellow clothes. The teachers and the children talked about the importance of tolerance, respect and kindness towards others. Our gold coins were collected and all the money will be sent to help the people in Haiti. We enjoyed the K-6 assembly and helped sing  ‘We Are Australian’.

Listen to us sing…

This week we are busy talking about all things ‘P’. We worked in groups doing some different activities that had something to do with the letter ‘P’. We made patterns, listened to a pirate story, used pegs to match letter sounds to pictures and pummelled and pinched the playdough. Everybody had a turn and we were polite and patient- in fact just perfect!

Each week we use our Smartboards to create an alphabet chart for the sounds we are learning.  We add pictures and words so we can practise many times.  Sometimes we add video or music to make our alphabet chart interactive. Click to play and if you then click the spider, the aquarium or the turtle you might be surprised.

Listen to us practise.
