Music Camp

On Monday and Tuesday students from the Eastwood string and band groups woke up early and headed off to Baden-Powell Scout Centre for the annual Music Camp.

As the day progressed students were anticipating the orchestra practise because of the great piece we were playing (Ancient Hunters). Before dinner we participated in team building activities such as making a catapult and crossing a river full of crocodiles with only 8 mats. After dinner everyone hurried to get ready for the campfire. The campfire was one of the most enjoyable things that happened at Music Camp because of the great songs we sang and our great host Matt. We cooked damper on the fire, while drinking delicious hot chocolate and it tasted great!

The next day began as usual, the ensemble practice and then the orchestra rehearsal. We were more than reday for the open rehersal, where parents could come and watch their child play.  When the time finally came to perform for our parents were excited because we wanted to show them what we had learnt over the past few days.

I’m sure the parents thoroughly enjoyed our performance but if you missed it we will be performing again at the Mid Year Concert.  Music Camp was a HUGE success and a special thanks to those parents who voulonteered to cook for us! The food was great.
