Jump Rope

On Tuesday we had a skipping demonstration from the Jump Rope for Heart team. We were enthralled by the many different skipping tricks they performed such as the rainbow, double under and the pretzel. It’s inspired many students to raise money for the jump off date on June 15th where the money will be raised  for the heart foundation. We’ll be looking for many fantastic skippers at the jump off showing us their fancy moves new and old.

Multicultural Speaking Competition

On Thursday it was the 2nd round of the Multicultural speaking competition for Years 5 and 6. Fourteen students entered the competition and spoke about topics such as belonging, racism – it’s just not funny and Asylum Seekers. Two students were selected to go through to the next round. We congratulate all of the participants for their excellent speeches and we wish the best of luck to the people who have been chosen to go to the next round of the Multicultural Speaking competition. We have been inspired by all of your speeches to do the right thing.

P&C Presentation to Chloe

The major role of the Eastwood P&C is to support the school and our students in the best way possible. One of the ways we are able to show our support is by offering financial support to all high achieving students who make a National event whether it be in Swimming, Athletics, Music, Spelling or Mathematics, just to name a few. We were therefore very pleased on behalf of the P&C to be able to present a cheque for $500 and a Certificate of Achievement to Chloe who again earned the right to represent Eastwood Public School and NSW at the National Swimming Championships in Melbourne this year in July. We are all very proud of Chloe and would like to take this opportunity to wish her every success not only at this event but also in her future swimming career.
